More designs for the Brother embroidery machine

The Brother sewing machine has been known for years as one of the leading models, and in recent years there is also an embroidery machine produced by the same company. These days the manufacturer has many different models to choose from, stand-alone embroidery models and combination embroidery sewing machines alike. Most of them come with a set of pre-loaded designs, but the selection is limited, meaning that at some point you might want to load additional embroidery designs into your machine. Even within the same brand, there are different ways of doing this depending on the model that you use, and you must choose your model based on this factor, among others. Then you can begin working on your own creations and make beautiful crafts, sometimes even by designing your very own embroidery patterns.embroidery machine

How to get embroidery machine designs

There are three basic ways of getting additional embroidery designs into your Brother embroidery machine. The first is the Memory Card Slot. This slot takes memory cards specifically designed and manufactured by Brother. These cards come pre-made with many designs already loaded on them, and they and up being pretty expensive. Rather than buying many separate cards, you might consider purchasing a card reader/writer along with software that you can use to record and edit information on the cards. This means that you will be able to download hundreds of free embroidery designs from the internet and write them on the card at your own convenience and at no cost. However, you will have to pay for the reader/writer device and the software.

The second, much more convenient option, is the one where you can use a USB port on your embroidery machine to connect it directly to a computer. You can then transfer embroidery designs directly, after having downloaded them from the internet. This removes the necessity of buying extra memory cards or a reader/writer, and can save you a lot of money, but not all models have this option.

The third option is even better: a USB port with flash-drive compatibility. This means that you don’t even have to plug your machine directly into a computer (what if you don’t have a computer standing right next to your machine?) and can instead use a USB flash drive to transfer the data. This is perhaps the most convenient and cost-effective option that exists for the Brother embroidery machine.

Brother embroidery machine models

Let us for a second explore embroidery machine models made by Brother and determine which of them are made for which type of file transfer. The machines that only have a memory card slot are the Brother SE350 Embroidery and Sewing machine and the Brother LB6770PRW Project Runway Sewing and Embroidery Machine. They are both combination machines, meaning that both have the awesome capability of sewing regular stitches, allowing you to make your own clothing, and being able to embellish your creations with embroidery. Unfortunately, they have the least convenient design transfer option and you will probably need the Brother PED-Basic embroidery software and a card reader/writer to take advantage of their full capabilities.

For the USB ports, we have the Brother PE770 and the Brother PE700II. The latter connects directly to your computer AND has a memory card, which allows you to record designs without needing to buy specialized software or a card reader/writer. The Brother 770 has a USB flash drive port. That means you must first copy the designs from your computer onto a flash drive.

Brother has been one of the leading manufacturers of sewing and embroidery machines for many years. Once you become familiar with all of the features offered by the different models pertaining to this brand, you will surely be able to choose the right embroidery machine to fit your goals and needs.
